Misfit Books

This is my senior honors thesis. I investigated attention and perception when it comes to book covers. We often judge books by their covers, but what about certain covers draws our attention, and more so, compels us to pick them up. I researched color, typography, and layout (how elements are arranged within the space), and how each aspect impacts the overall success of a cover design. I also ran two rounds of survey research, testing my cover redesigns to make sure that they were impacting perception in the way they were designed to.
